A Winter Wedding at the Hotel Concord

I love a winter wedding, and Sierra and Jon’s at the Hotel Concord was an absolute stunner. The pops of mistletoe red throughout their design accentuated the cozy, holiday feel. The Hotel Concord is a wedding and event venue located in Concord, NC; about 30 minutes north east of Uptown Charlotte. As a North Carolina based wedding photographer, this venue is one of my favorites to work at.

Sierra and Jon began their wedding day with emotional parent first looks in the main ballroom. However, they decided to keep their own first look traditional down the aisle during the ceremony.

The ceremony itself was also in the main ballroom. The pops of red throughout the fireplace mantel florals were beautiful. The mirror above the fireplace reflecting the crystal chandeliers and bistro lighting draped added such a romantic and elegant feel. I love that there is a balcony the full length of the ballroom because it allows me the ability to get unique perspective shots that I can’t get in other ceremony venues.

After the ceremony we did family portraits in the ballroom. Then, we went next door to a church lawn for a change of scenery for the wedding party and bride and groom portraits.

Cocktail hour was held in the bar and lounge which features beautiful black and white mosaic tile flooring and black wrap around bar.

The grand ballroom space was flipped to hold the reception. It had a sweetheart table at the center and rounds with white linens, gold charges and red napkins on each side. Again, the pops of red in the floral centerpieces, the napkins and the cake table really added to the festive, warm winter feel.

All of the toasts were so heartfelt and emotional and the first dance felt like something out of a fairytale. When the dj started playing, I don’t think a single person was left off the dance floor. I love when my couples and their guests really just let loose on the dance floor.

Sierra and Jon, I can’t thank you enough for letting me be a part of such a beautiful day. They chose a photography collection that includes an 8×8 signature album and designing that album was such a pleasure. I love when my couples understand the importance of creating a physical heirloom to enjoy their photos through.
