Katie and Charles decided that Romare Bearden Park was the perfect spot for their engagement session. They wanted to do their photos in a place that showed off the beautiful city in which they fell in love! Romare Bearden Park is the perfect place for that. There are gorgeous skyline views and also plenty of greenery.
Katie and Charles were so much fun, so easy going and they brought along their adorable pup Bits! Bits quickly took over as star of the show, and we were all fine with that. There’s definitely a level of comfortability that comes with having your furry friend along for the photoshoot. It makes the shoot feel so easy and the pups usually have everyone laughing and enjoying themselves.
Romare Bearden Park is located in the middle of Uptown on S. Church St. It has views of the Charlotte skyline as well as a great view of Truist Field, where the Charlotte Knights play baseball right across the street. There are plenty of amazing restaurants and bars within walking distance if you decide to turn your engagement session into a date night, like Charles and Katie did!
They decided to do two outfits, one casual and one more formal. I like when couples do two outfits because it gives them more variety in their gallery. It also provides them with more options if they decide to use their photos for save the dates or invitations. Thankfully Romare Bearden Park has public bathrooms which make an outfit change easily accessible.
A couple of my favorite photos from this engagement session were the ones we got at the very end when we walked across the street to the French quarter.
