Alexa and Charles’ wedding at their church and Venue 1223 in Bluffton was one for the books. Beautiful from getting ready in the morning until the last sparkler went out during the exit. Everyone had a blast and the day was filled with such genuine love.
Their getting ready and ceremony venue was at Christian Renewal Church in Hilton Head. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of natural light the church had. The church was painted bright white, which is great for photos and there were tall windows that spilled in lovely afternoon light. There were also gorgeous trees dripping Spanish moss surrounding the building.
Alexa and Charles both were very laid back and relaxed while getting ready beforehand at the church. The ceremony itself was heartfelt and there weren’t many dry eyes among the guests.
We took family photos in front of the church under their portico post-ceremony, as that was the shadiest, largest area. It worked perfectly and I loved the white pillars and trees in the background. Alexa and Charles took a mustang get-away car from the wedding over to their reception, which was at Venue 1223 in neighboring Bluffton, SC.
So you already know the food was amazing. Venue 1223 itself is a venue for smaller weddings under 125 people. It features vaulted ceilings and a beautiful private garden courtyard with hanging cafe lighting. The latter was where they held their cocktail hour followed by their reception inside the venue. They had a mix of long banquet tables and rounds covered with pretty simple white linen and natural padded chairs. They also had a quaint lounge area for guests to relax near the dance floor.
The reception was beautiful, filled with so much love and some really entertaining dance moves. Take a look, below!
