Megan and Michael’s Durham Engagement Shoot at West Point on the Eno City Park

Megan and Michael wanted to do their fall engagement photos at West Point on the Eno City Park in Durham. They love bringing their dog for walks in local parks, with West Point on the Eno being one of them. Colorful fall leaves, a historic mill, hiking trails and a waterfall all within a 5 minute walk made this location a no brainer.

They wanted Rhea, their pup, to be included in some of their engagement photos. If you know me at all, you know those words are magic to my ears. As a dog-mom of two, I’m THRILLED when my couples include their furry friends. Since not all of the photos would include Rhea, I had them bring along a dog handler to make things easier for all of us. Megan’s mom volunteered for the job. I always love getting to meet some of the couple’s family before the wedding. It’s great to have more of the wedding party comfortable and laid back while I shoot on the wedding day!

Megan and Michael’s session was so much fun. We hiked on some trails, shot at the historic grist mill, and went down to the river for a few shots as well. Some of my favorite shots, however, were in this beautiful field that had gorgeous golden hour light coming through the trees. I love a location that can give several different looks for a variety of images.

Check out some of their engagement photos below!
